Sunday Surfing 7/7/13

Those of you who follow me on twitter might have noticed I’m been posting a lot of links recently. Sunday Surfing is my new feature (inspired by Chrisbookarama‘s Friday Bookish Buzz, which is one of my favourite features) where I share my favourite links from during the week, about books and blogging.

Plus a little about what’s happened on the blog this week. Lets get started.

Around the web this week

Most dramatic literary deaths. Beware the spoilers!

Why Carrie is dedicated to Stephen King’s wife. His wife sounds pretty awesome, right?

Hotel libraries. That’s enough reason to stay in one of these hotels, right?

The passage that got Neil Gaiman’s book banned.

The Luminaries won The Booker Prize. And Jackie @ Farm Lane Books guessed right.

And Life After Life won ‘Not the Booker’. It’s up there with my top reads this year, see my review

What it’s like to be a Booker judge

Everything Jonathan Franzen hates. It’s a long list, but I think he could add to it!

Children’s Books by celebrities which are good reads.

Still not sure if this week’s video is funny or depressing?!

And on the blog this week…

I reviewed Mother, Mother

And one of the toddlers brought in Captain Cool for us to read

  1. That Franzen list…fabulous. And although I hate to admit it, I agree with his Jennifer Weiner assessment.

  2. lol. There seem to be a few things he says that actually make sense…..

  3. I haven’t mentioned this before but I really enjoy your links posts. I primarily keep up with bookish news through your posts 🙂
